I apologize in advance as i dont have a working sample as well I have been trying to do reading up on ACROSS, ACROSSVALUE and the other ACROSS functions but dont seem to be finding what I need.
I have a table file (very loosely as I am typing this off the top of my head) like follows
TABLE FILE TEST PASSED FAILED BY REGION ACROSS YEAR ACROSS TYPE COLUMNS 'BLUE' AND 'BLACK' AND 'YELLOW'
So the output of this would look something like
2011
BLUE BLACK YELLOW
PASSED FAILED PASSED FAILED PASSED FAILED
NORTH
EAST
WEST
SOUTH
What I want to do, is I want to sum the PASSED & FAILED columns of the BLUE and BLACK columns. So basically BLUE.PASSED+BLACK.PASSED etc
2011
BLUE+BLACK BLUE BLACK YELLOW
PASSED FAILED PASSED FAILED PASSED FAILED PASSED FAILED
NORTH
EAST
WEST
SOUTH
I have seen some other code samples where they used relative column naming but only with one across. Im not quite sure how i would sum the above?
Or more specifically, is there a way I can specify a specific sub column of a column? Like if i wanted the column PASSED for the column BLUE?
