hello guys,
i am trying to join two hold files(HOLD1 AND HOLD2) in mre and i am running my report in defered mode and i am getting the error

BYPASSING TO END OF COMMAND

do you have any idea for what reason i am getting this error because when i run the queries seperately that return data into my hold files then its working fine.

Where are the Masters for these HOLD files? Where are the data files?

By default, HOLD file masters and data files are deleted from the temporary directory and not available to any other WebFOCUS request. You have to save the Masters and data files to be read by another WebFOCUS request.

hi francis,
thanks for uyr reply.i am running 2 seperate sql passthroughs to the database and storing the the data into two holdfiles(hold1 and hold2).and then i am joining these two holdfiles using the by feilds in both the hold files. while attempting to do this i am encountering the above error.

I am not very sure, but try to sort the two hold files by the field which you are trying to join and the join the hold files.

TABLE FILE TEMP1
PRINT ...
BY VAL2
ON TABLE HOLD AS ...
END

TABLE FILE TEMP2
PRINT ...
BY VAL4
ON TABLE HOLD AS ..
END

JOIN VAL2 ....TO ...VAL4...
