Has anybody been able to launch Report Assistant from a self-service app using the rpasstie.jsp file and have the save and save as buttons enabled? The doc says that option is not supported for self-service apps, but I'm sure there must be a way to do it.

Hkan the ability to save via the report assistant is very deliberately not available for self-service applications.
The reason is that the functionality is a licensable option (part of WebFocus UAS).
By definition within WebFocus users who can create and save their own reports are Analytical users or Developers for which a per seat fee is charged usually in blocks of 100 users.

If the customer is not licensed for UAS and you do find a way to work around the limitation then you will be in violation of IBIs license agreement and could find yourself and the customer in a lot of trouble.
If the customer is licensed then they need to run their applications via the dashboard or a third party portal which will make the save option available.

John,

I think you're right there. It's a way for IBI to make more money. The thing is, though, we're running this from within the BID and the reason we do this is that we like to present the users with a choice of week and then, behind the scenes, create an extract file from a maybe 200+ million row table, which we don't want the users to hit with Report Assistant. So, as we're running this as a form of Standard Report, I think we should be able to Save the fex as well, don't you?

The only option is to give the users the report as a reporting object that way they can save to my reports. But not via a direct call to the jsp.
