reportcaster renders *'s in spreadsheets!

we just upgraded to 7.6 last week. In the upgrade we've had a few problems with reportcaster not properly rendering any spreadsheet with proper values, many of the fields are *'s only.

when we run the same Managed reports outside of reportcaster (via dev studio) the asterisks do not appear.

Any idea on how to correct this issue? is it metadata related?

Thanks!

Are the '*' such that if you adjust the spreadsheet column widths the data appears? Or is it just '*'?

it just shows a value of "*****" (well, with no quote marks)

I went in this morning and changed all the data lengths in all of the metadata for the excel report and now it seems to be working again.

Thanks for your attention to this problem. I guess it was just one of those intermittent issues.

The way to determine if it is a WebFOCUS issue or an Excel issue is by looking at thte symbol filling the cell.

'*' indicates the format needs to be adjusted in WebFOCUS

'#' indicates the column width in the spreadsheet needs to be widened.

Thanks!
