Hi,

I have to create comma separated value extracted from a TABLE FILE request and use it in SQL query further.
i.e, if there is a request which return three values say 1,2 and 3.
I want to loop through the records and create a string as 1,2,3 so that I can use it in a SQL query against one column in IN clause as (1,2,3).
Please suggest.

Thanks.

This may be a way (use lines with no quotes if you don't need it)
SET ASNAMES = ON
-SET &STRG = '(''';
-*-SET &STRG = '(';
TABLE FILE CAR
BY COUNTRY AS 'VAL'
ON TABLE HOLD AS TMP FORMAT BINARY
END
-RUN

-SET &NBREC = &LINES;
-READFILE TMP
-RUN
-SET &STRG = &STRG || &VAL;

-IF &NBREC EQ 1 THEN GOTO XEND;
-REPEAT LOOP FOR &I FROM 2 TO &NBREC STEP 1
-READFILE TMP
-RUN
-SET &STRG = &STRG || ''',''' || &VAL;
-*-SET &STRG = &STRG || ',' || &VAL;
-LOOP

-XEND
-SET &STRG = &STRG || ''')';
-*-SET &STRG = &STRG || ')';

-TYPE STRG: &STRG

My pleasure.

Edit your first post, then update the subject to add [SOLVED] at the beginning of it.
