Hi,

I have a report that looks at a user id and if it's in the sql proc go ahead to correct foc else it will prompt an error -
(FOC295) A VALUE IS MISSING FOR: &PPNUM

which needs to go to an HTML page. Code example:

TABLE FILE SQLOUT

PRINT
     PPNUME
WHERE PPNUME EQ USERID2;

ON TABLE SAVE AS PPROLE FORMAT ALPHA
END
-RUN

-SET &PPLINES = &LINES ;
-READ PPROLE &PPNUM.A7
-TYPE &PPNUM

-IF &PPLINES NE 0 THEN GOTO ServExpi ;

-ServExpi
-INCLUDE mpulse_ahtdetail
-EXIT

--* ERROR piece *--
-RUN
-IF &FOCERRNUM NE 0 THEN GOTO ERROR ;
-ERROR
-HTMLFORM noahtdetailsman
-EXIT

The -IF &FOCERRNUM NE 0 THEN GOTO ERROR ; doesnt appear to work to launch HTML page..Any body know why? Is it the type of error that I'm trying to pass through?

Thanks,

Joe

Your code is a little off the mark:

TABLE FILE SQLOUT

PRINT
PPNUME

WHERE PPNUME EQ USERID2;

ON TABLE SAVE AS PPROLE FORMAT ALPHA
END
-RUN
-IF &FOCERRNUM NE 0 THEN GOTO ERROR ;

-SET &PPLINES = &LINES ;
-READ PPROLE &PPNUM.A7
-TYPE &PPNUM

-IF &PPLINES NE 0 THEN GOTO ServExpi ;
-EXIT

-ServExpi
-INCLUDE mpulse_ahtdetail
-EXIT

-* ERROR piece *--
-ERROR
-HTMLFORM noahtdetailsman.htm
-EXIT

Thanks Francis,

I tried your suggestion however, I received the same error again.

I ended up adding a default value to &ppnum

 -DEFAULTH &PPNUM = '2';

ENGINE SQLMSS SET DEFAULT_CONNECTION IVB
SQL SQLMSS
EX ORBIT.dbo.lead_aht_expeditor '&dte'
;

-* Pulls in all data

TABLE FILE SQLOUT
PRINT *
ON TABLE HOLD AS SQLOUT
END

-* Redifines Role field, PPnum for read statement. Defines USERID.

DEFINE FILE SQLOUT
PPNUME/A7=(EmpID);
USERID/A8='&IBIC_user';
USERID9/A8=(USERID);
USERNUM/A6=EDIT(USERID9, '$$999999');
USERID2/A8=UPCASE(7,USERID9,'A7');
-*PPNUMEA/A8 MISSING ON=IF PPNUME EQ '' THEN MISSING ELSE PPNUME;

-*ROLEA/A3= (Role);
-*GROUP/A25=(EmpGroupName);
END

-* Finds PPid and Role

TABLE FILE SQLOUT

PRINT
     PPNUME
WHERE PPNUME EQ USERID2;

ON TABLE SAVE AS PPROLE FORMAT ALPHA
END
-RUN

-SET &FLAG = &PPNUM;
-SET &PPLINES = &LINES ;
-READ PPROLE &PPNUM.A7
-TYPE &PPNUM
-IF &PPNUM EQ '2' THEN GOTO ERROR;
-IF &PPLINES NE 0 THEN GOTO ServExpi ;

-ServExpi
-INCLUDE mpulse_ahtdetail
-EXIT

-RUN
-IF &FOCERRNUM NE 0 THEN GOTO ERROR ;
-ERROR
-HTMLFORM noahtdetailsman
-EXIT

Not sure if this is even the right way of doing it. It works though.

Thanks again

You could try adding a '.' to the end of the -READ

-READ PPROLE &PPNUM.A7.
