Hi,

Does anyone know what trouble I might cause for WF if I uninstall and reinstall Tomcat (same version), moving it from one disk drive to another on the same server?

Thanks.

Having recently done installation of tomcat as part of 7.6.2 upgrade I would say none, but you will have to be very careful to copy all the settings over.

At the least there is the classpath and the mapping for the webfocus directories which are going to need a change of disk letter.

Server: WF 7.6.2 ( BID/Rcaster) Platform: W2003Server/IIS6/Tomcat/SQL Server repository Adapters: SQL Server 2000/Oracle 9.2

greg,

There is good documentation on the install of Tomcat after a WF install. The same process would apply if you needed to uninstall and then reinstall.

The thing to remember is that there are differences if you are using Apache or IIS as your web service. If you use IIS then you only require "ibi_apps" context (plus "rcaster" if you use it), otherwise you need a few more.

The installation documentation has all of this though.

Good luck

Greg,

I have done it several times and don't recall running int any issues. The only thing you have to do is re-create the WebFOCUS contexts. If you are using an HTTP web server in front of Tomcat, you may need to reinstall the connector. That precess is described in the install guide and is easy to follow.
