susannahcogent issue is resolved! fcc intervened
anybody able to get in to techsupport on the web this morning? i'm getting 'page not found'
..i suspect this is just for users of TimeWarnerCable...it works fine via dial up...but timewarner has not been connecting withlevel-3 isp's for 2 days now.
and i'm guessing that the ibi tech support site is accessed via a level3isp.
Anybody have a timewarnercable connection and and can test getting to techsupport.informationbuilders.com ?
tia.

susannahFrancis, are you using TWC Road Runner?
it seems to be only TWC to layer3 isp's, eg ours is CogentCo.

Level 3 and Cogent seem to be fighting and service may be cut off in some areas.

<Maryellen>All -- Tech Support is aware of the issue and they have distributed the following message to customers registered for the techsupport site advisories:
*****
We understand that some users of InfoResponse Online have been unable to reach some of our servers since yesterday.
The problem is due to a conflict between two Internet backbone providers:
level3 and Cogent. Cogent provides services for some of our sites, including techsupport.informationbuilders.com and ftp.ibi.com.
Users on one network won't be able to access websites on the other network or will experience slower speeds when connecting to websites. Note that this issue affects all internet users, not only Information Builders' sites.
We are investigating solutions to this problem and will implement one soon.
We apologize for the inconvenience during this period. As always you can reach us by phone 800-736-6130 or 212-736-6130.

susannahSUZY...thank you! we've been scrambling for a news service to report this. it happened at about 1am yesterday morning.
Apparently the FCC is now involved because government emails can't go out.
What drama!
