I'm new to WEBFOCUS. I know there's been a lot of discussion on this subject, but I can't seem to find any recent threads. I need to build a report with multiple conditionally embedded icons (checkmark, warning sign, thumbs up, etc) based on performance metrics. What is the easiest/most efficient way to do this? A lot of mention of BLOB files, but are they limited to GIF and JPEG? Were there any enhancements with 8.0 v08 that make this easier?

The images are limited to GIF, JPEG and PNG, as that's what web browsers guarantee to understand. You can also embed SVG images, but that's a bit more involved and is not supported on all browsers.

What browser version do you have? We are in the middle of going from IE8 to IE11 and the alt are no longer working and IB says they will not be fixing it. They say ALT is obsolete now.

You're supposed to use the title attribute for those messages. The alt-attribute is for browsers that can't display images.

I want to thank you for all of your suggestions. I will look at them when I get a chance. The problem is that I will have to update virtual every report that I have. I have virtually all reports call the same function that puts these images at the top. If IB updates the TYPE=HEADING to use the "Title" tag I would have to make much of a change.
