Can someone explain how the POSITION and DIMENSTION relate to the METADATA command.
The code generated can be
METADATA='0.5^0.5^0.5^0.5'
or
METADATA='Z-INDEX: 100; LEFT: 0.5in; OVERFLOW: auto; WIDTH: 7.5in; POSITION: absolute; TOP: 0.0in; HEIGHT: 3.0in'
or
METADATA='BOTTOMMARGIN=0.0,TOPMARGIN=0.0,LEFTMARGIN=0,RIGHTMARGIN=0,'

I am using relative positioning and would like to decrease the gap between component sections
How does it relate to POSITION and DIMENSION?

Laurie, here is what I know.

POSITION
This is the Top left position of the report in the compound layout on the page or relative to the previous component.

DIMENSION
This is the size of the virtual window the report will be shown.

METADATA
This I beleive is only used for an HTML compound layouts.
For a PDF compound layout report its not needed.
It may also be used in the Painter as well.

What output format are you using ?

Waz...

I found a solution to my problem.

ON TABLE SET PAGE NOLEAD takes away enough of the extra space between components to make the report look ok.

Thanks for the info.
