I am trying to create a report that is based on 3 DB2 tables. I use the join tool to link the first to the second table via 4 fields 1:N, and then join the second table to the third table via 1 field 1:1.

When I take the next step and try to create the report, selecting the first table that was used in the join, I get an "Error Parsing Master File... Possible causes could be...".

If I do not do the join, or I make the report before the join, I can pull in that first table, but do not have access to the other 2.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

So you cannot run a report against the other two by themselves? Have you ever been able to do so?

Before you do the joins, I would use the CHECK command on each file to verify that the Masters are syntactically correct, specially if someone has modified them after they were generated.

CHECK FILE file-name

Look for "Checking and Changing a Master File: CHECK" in the "Describing Data With WebFOCUS Language" manual.

If there are errors, either correct the errors or recreate the metadata.
