How can I send a file from the server to the local PC Drive?
I want to be able to send a file that resides on the server when the user runs a program.

GinnyJakesUnless you have a shared drive, you are not going to be able to do that. If you are using DNS, you would never even know what the IP address was.
If the file was in a special format, like Excel, you could email it with Report Caster.

jbond007Ginny,
It is an excel file. How do I email to caster and then from caster to users?

GinnyJakesDo you have Report Caster? That is the first question.
Secondly, what you do in RC is to set up a schedule that runs the program that creates the excel file. On the distribution tab, you specify email as the distribution method and create a distribution list to send the file to the folks that you want to receive the email.
I would recommend going to the doc link at the upper right-hand corner of this page and download either the rcuser or rcadmin manuals and check them out. All of this is clearly explained.

jbond007Ginny,
The excel file is already created. It is part of an excel template report. Since the excel template is not behaving like I expected, I had to break the sheets into separate worksheets. The formatting on the second sheets is being distorted. It squeezes it. So now I have to send them the second page to save on their computer. when they run the report, it references the cells on the excel the just run. Normally, this would all be in one template.

Tony AJD,
Why not achieve the formatting via VBA code in the workbook open sub?
