Regenerate Synonym after change in Dimension values?

Hello All,
I am running Webfocus 711 on Windows. Recently the data cubes that we use for reporting were updated with 2006 for Year dimension. However the synonyms were not pulling in 2006 in the values list.
So i went ahead and recreated synonyms thinking that would help. No change ...still no 2006.
Next I recereated one synonym with a different name...and viola 2006 shows up in the list of values.
I have tried restarting the services, the box etc....but nothing seems to make the original synonyms show up with the new value for year.
Any ideas on what is happening here and how to fix it ?
Thanks
~Rohit

You probably have an extra master file with the same name as the old synonym somewhere, and it is pointing to the wrong data.

Do
WHENCE synonymname MASTER

to find it.

Thanks NSelph,
Your hint helped me track down a duplicate synonym file and delete.
