So, the bloated PDF due to jpg images is a problem... I just wanted to know if any of you have a work-around...This message has been edited. Last edited by: Anatess,
It is compressed in Oracle and Webfocus uncompresses it to put in the PDF and holds it uncompressed.
You can try it in your installation and see if it occurs there too. I'm on 7.7.03.
I'm not sure if you can see our Cases. I opened this case last weekend: https://techsupport.informatio...ry.jsp?case=11713007 and IBI is consulting with Product Management to address the issue on, possibly, an NFR to compress images. Unfortunately, I can't wait too long for a solution from IBI without providing at least a workaround.
I'm kinda scratching my head, though, wondering why there's not much buzz about this issue on Focal Point. It's making me second-guess myself...
I went ahead and swiped some java code to compress images in a PDF file using java's iText Module.
So, the PDF hold file is created and then we call the java class to compress the held file. It's not pretty but it serves our purposes for the meantime.
