Sybase Float field to WebFOCUS Double loses decimal precision

I am using a Sybase stored procedure to extract a field defined in Sybase to be a Float. To do this I do the following:

EX SYBASE_stored_procedure

TABLE FILE SQLOUT
PRINT float_field
ON TABLE HOLD AS float_data
END

When I look at the generated master the float_field is defined as a D20.2 field.

The problem I am having is that in Sybase, the data is 5 decimal places, while in WebFOCUS the data has been rounded to two decimal places.

I would like to retain the original 5 decimal places that existed in the Sybase database.

Does anyone know how to accomplish this? Is there a global setting to change?

I believe I have answered my own question. There is a global setting that you add to your sybase connection statements. Add

ENGINE SQLSYB SET CONVERSION FLOAT PRECISION 20 5

This will change the default 2 decimal places to 5 decimal places.

Thats pretty cool John - I didn't know that one. The other thing I was going to point out was that focus knows the full 5 decimal precision even though it was defining it with a .2 on the end.

Just do a define or compute to move it into a d20.5 and you would have seen your extra precision you thought you were losing.
