I am new to InfoAssist and I am trying to migrate reports from another reporting tool. I have a query that is used extensively and I am trying to determine if there is a way to enter this in InfoAssist. I see App Studio has a SQL Pass Thru which will let me enter the SQL directly that I need to. Does InfoAssist provide this functionality? I was looking at Report Objects in InfoAssist, but just not seeing it? I am trying to execute the oracle connect by functionality.

select
ro.ocd, ro.ofc_nm, ro.ofc_typ, ro.rpt_to_ocd
from
rptofc ro

start with ro.ocd = 'L1O'
connect by nocycle prior

case ro.OFC_TYP
when '13' then ro.rptd_adocd
when '02' then ro.rocd
when '15' then ro.rptd_hlvl_grpg_cd
when '18' then ro.rptd_adocd
when '22' then ro.rocd
else
ro.ocd
end = ro.rpt_to_ocd

InfoAssist requires metadata to create reports. If you have the right to create synonym, use this SQL in App Studio as the source for your synonym. Once the synonym is there, InfoAssist treats it just like another table.

You can also do the same thing on the Reporting Server console. It'll walk you through the process of choosing the DBMS, Connection, and then prompt you for the .sql file or let you copy and paste the sql into the screen. Select Object Type of External SQL Script.

Follow-up:

Is anybody now using SQL pass-through in InfoAssist? I have heard some rumblings that SQL can be enabled in InfoAssist, though I have no idea how this is possible.

Thanks and regards to the FOCUS Nation.
