Why can't you add group to a group in User Administration?

In 7.1.4, the User Administration panel doesn't allow you to add existing security groups to the security group that you're working with. You only seem to be able to add/remove on an individual user basis.

This is contrary to maintenance of Report Library Access Lists, where groups can be specified, and seems like a very nice-to-have for User Administration, to avoid adding individuals redundantly to different groups and creating complex maintenance.

Is there anything in the works for later releases that addresses this, and if not, is there good reason why a new feature request wouldn't be appropriate?

If you're using MRE backed by a Database repository it's an easy matter to write your own group copy and merge facility although there is still effectively only one level to the hierachy ie a group can't recursively own another group.

We've done code to copy/merge groups between test and live environments that's quite simple, but as I understand some environments have the repository like the domains recorded in HTML and this is a totally different proposition!

Regards

John
