Hi - first of all i'm very new at this WebFocus stuff. i've been using it for around 3 LONG weeks! anyway, in my HTML layout screen i imported a existing report. My variables are STNAME, HOUSENBR and STTYPE. STNAME and STTYPE work fine i'm using a drop down list for the two with the option of 'all'. but for HOUSENBR i'm using a text box. i want to be able to leave the HOUSENBR blank for all numbers. and when i do that it doesn't select any data, but when i put a number in it works fine.
oh please help!
tami

I believe you need to look into foc_all and foc_none options. There is a lot of info on this on the forum. Use the find tool. I don't have an example in front of me.

You may be able to get away with doing this at the top of your program:

-SET &HOUSENBR = IF &HOUSENBR EQ '' THEN 'FOC_NONE' ELSE &HOUSENBR;

When WebFOCUS executes the IF or WHERE statement using &HOUSENBR, the line of code will be ignored if it contains 'FOC_NONE'
