My users would like to add reports that they have run to the report library without setting them up in Report Caster. Has anyone been able to do this with the API?

Yep. I assume here that they would just like to click on some actionable button that would just do this for them?

The thing about library, is that the file that you want to store has to either exist somewhere in your file system, or must be a web focus request. I've used the api in the past to automatically allow a request to be placed in library, however, underneath the scenes, it actually schedules the request in RC and then places that request result into library.

The report is based on a WebFOCUS request. What I would be interested in setting up is the user would just need to click on a button and it would set up the schedule behind the scene. The one issue that I'm concerned about this is I still need the user to indicate which Library it is supposed to belong to, how many versions it should contain, and how to clean up the one time schedules that would be created.

The users usually run the reports in Excel format, so if there is a way that they can just add the Excel file to the Library that might work as well.

I would be very interested in what you did dhagen.
