First time questioner, long time reader. Thanks everyone for sharing your tipsd and trick. Our current configuration has the LOG and TRACE files going to our local C drive on the server. We have been having space issues and I was wondering if we set WebFocus to write to a different drive on the same server. I would appreciate any advice you all may have.

Paul,

For Client traces: WF Admin Console (http://server-name/ibi_html/wfconsole.htm) > Configuration > Startup Parameters > Modify trace_location.

For logs: I don't think the location of the server-side log (edaprint.log) can be changed.

This info is for v5.3.2 and I think it also applies for versions 7.1.and 7.6.

Paul,

Reporting server traces are written to EDATEMP if I remember correctly. Not sure that you can change them to be written elsewhere.

EDATEMP is settable through your edaserve.cfg file in the srv7x/wfs/bin directory. If there is no reference yet to edatemp, just add it, like for instance:
edatemp = d:\temp
You'll need to restart the server for the change to take effect.
After the restart all server temp files will be written to the new specified location.

Hope this helps ...
