Can someone please advise on how I can Call a parameter driven MRE fex when a user clicks on a Java generated web page link ?
After searching around, I tried a couple of variations of IBI's code below to build a call string with all the necessary MRE variables like Domain/folder/fex/parms/userid/password, etc. But this is only taking me to a "you have to log-in to the server" credentials page. The call should authenticate behind the scenes and execute the fex without prompting the user.

FortuneCookie is right, the best way is to publish, and use the page to submit, you can them post the form and protect the values of the submission from being seen.

BlueZone, are you sure you want to make an open call, the user id and password will be visible and be in your browsers history.
A published report does not need a user id and password to run, I beleive this is a far safer way to run the report, all you have to do is call the html page and have it run the report.
BLUE, when everyone says 'publish', doyou know what they mean? there is a way to create a launch page other than via devstu. in mre, click right on your fex, and select PUBLISH. you get an html launch page. edit that page, heavily, taking out tons of gibberish, and look at the bottom...there are all the tags needed for a FORM ACTION. an acceptable uid and pw can be passed as hidden tags. If launched from an IIS launch location, outside of mre, many of the input parameters listed in that form aren't needed.

Thank you for your extended suggestions Waz & Susannah. I would sure prefer to have the id/pw being hidden from the page.
I have never tried the 'Publish' before. But will try now and see how I can make it work in our situation.
