Hi,
We are trying to ftp a report (a pdf created from CAR) to a Windows Server. We are getting the following error msg :
unable to distribute to Sample.pdf

CWD D:\ibi\apps: 550 D:\ibi\apps: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

Kindly advice.

Naveen you do not say how you are trying to ftp.

From Report Caster?
From a WebFOCUS command line call?

Looks like Caster but knowing would help.

First thing to check is that the ftp user id has authorization to write to the target.

Hi JG,
I am trying to FTP through ReportCaster.
Ya, the FTP user ID has the proper authorization.

Where are you FTP'ing from? Please update your profile with platform data. Is this error message in your ReportCaster log or where are you seeing this?

What have you set up for the (exact) destination/directory/filename? Can you FTP this same file in an interactive FTP session from your server where ReportCaster is installed to that Windows box using the same destination parameters? Never seen CWD in an FTP error message but that's probably just a symptom of the problem.

Regards,

Darin
