Hi,

If the user clicks on a cell in a grid to update it , he needs to double click on it to go in to edit mode , is there a way to change that into a single click?

Any Ideas???

No problem - Use the JavaScript command:
Form1.Grid1.StartEdit();
There Form1 is my formname and Grid1 is the gridname.

You can put the command on the FOCUS trigger.

Hi Mark

Yup , that does the trick , but i have another trigger on that grid that gives the current line a different background color , and it seems that this delays the startedit()....and thus still makes you double-click before it goes in enter mode

Does this make sense?

I've been able to solve this issue by putting a startedit() at the end of the other event

Whenever I code this into my Maintain for my Grid Object, I receive the err:


(FOC03611) STARTEDIT is not a method in type IWCCONTROLAXGRID.

I have tried other functions with my grid including SETCURSOR and SETSCROLL and I receive the above error message.

What do i need to do?

It's one of two things. First, this is a JavaScript command. Make sure you have clicked the JS on the top of the events page when you place this code in the trigger.

If not that, make sure that the Form name and grid name are correct and in the exact case. Javascript is VERY case sensative.

Form1.Grid1.StartEdit();

If none of that fixes the problem, I'll see you Sunday!!
