I've written a simple html href to link to one of my MRE reports as follows...

A HREF="/cgi-bin/ibi_cgi/ibiweb.exe?IBIF_ex=app/wcqrgj18.fex" mmtest /A

(the < and > have been removed so this post will render properly)

I'm getting this error:
(FOC227) THE FOCEXEC PROCEDURE CANNOT BE FOUND: app/wcqrgj18.fex

I've tried taking off the app/ and the .fex. Is it possible that I can't link to an MRE report for security reasons or something?


Prod: Single Windows 2008 Server running Webfocus 7.7.03 Reporting server Web server IIS6/Tomcat, AS400 DB2 database.

When you call a MRE report from your HTML, you need to pass all these informations

<input type="hidden" name="IBIMR_action" value="MR_RUN_FEX">
<input type="hidden" name="IBIMR_sub_action" value="MR_STD_REPORT">
<input type="hidden" name="IBIMR_domain" value="yourdomain/yourdomain.htm">
<input type="hidden" name="IBIMR_folder" value="#yourfolder">
<input type="hidden" name="IBIC_server" value="yourserver">
<input type="hidden" name="IBIMR_fex" value="app/yourfex.fex">
<input type="hidden" name="IBIF_ex" value="app/yourfex.fex">
<input type="hidden" name="IBIMR_defer" value="" >
<input type="hidden" name="IBIMR_drill" value="RUNNID">

In your case you have to pass these values as parameters.

In an MRE HTML HREF, you need to specify the Domain and Standard Reports Folder. The quickest way to create the required href code is to run a report from MRE and copy-paste the report window's URL. Here's an MRE call:

Following Francis's recommendation, I've run a report from my MRE but the URL is always
http://svr99rvi/ibi_apps/WFServlet

Everything after the ? seems to not be there. Is there some sort of method to see the full URL that you're talking about?

Here's the inside trick --

Go to the report you want to call in MRE, right-click on it, and select the Publish option.

Click on the Show As Report button, give it a name and click OK.

The new html file will include a line that says (form . . . method='post') Change that method parameter to method='get'.

Save, and then run that published html file.

When you click on the Submit button, your report will appear.

All your required variables will magically appear in the url string.

My example is using servlet. Is your server set for servlet or CGI?

Did you run an MRE report and copy the link?

Someone should sticky that trick, it's going to come in handy for more than just this for me. A querystring can really help debug things.

Is there any way to pass a username using this method? We're being prompted for MR security.
