I have a defined field column and I am trying to get a MAX and MIN for the column. Below is the code and I am trying to get a MAX value for the COUNTERP field. It is sorted by MONTH and I need to know the month that had the highest COUNTERP. I have tried everything I know to try and I have tried stuff posted on focal point. Has anyone had this issue?

DEFINE FILE CLIENT_INFO
TERM_MO/MT = CLIENT_TERM_DT;
COUNT_MO/I11 = 1;
COUNTERP/I11 = IF CLIENT_ID EQ PARENT_CLIENT_ID
END

TABLE FILE CLIENT_INFO
SUM
COUNTERP
BY TERM_MO
BY COUNT_MO

For max and min values use the MAX. and MIN. prefixes, save the data and read it into variables, then use the variables to find the months.

If you are looking at graphing this then use the link top right to search the WebFOCUS Forum for "sparkline" for an example.

So what do you want to do with the MAX and MIN values ?

This will get you the Maximum and Minimum Months.
TABLE FILE EMPLOYEE
SUM   MAX.CURR_SAL
      MIN.CURR_SAL
PRINT COMPUTE
      MAXMIN/A3 = IF MAX.CURR_SAL EQ CURR_SAL THEN 'MAX' ELSE
                  IF MIN.CURR_SAL EQ CURR_SAL THEN 'MIN' ELSE ' ' ;
      TERM_MO/MT MISSING ON= IF MAXMIN NE ' ' THEN HIRE_DATE ELSE MISSING ;

BY CURR_SAL

WHERE TOTAL MAXMIN NE ' '
END

Thank you everyone for your help. Ram, I tried your code and it worked. I had already tried the "By Highest" but not the "By Total Highest".
Thanks again.
