I have a Vertical Dual-Axis Clustered Bar graph where I have changed one of the bars to a line. My graph has one measure displayed as a bar and the other as a line. Measure 1 is tied to Vertical Axis 1 (VA1), measure 2 is tied to VA2. I want to display data labels, however VA1 should be whole numbers and VA2 should be %. I cannot get the formats to be independent of one another, if I format one as %, the other changes to %. Any help would be appreciated!

We may be able to help IF you can duplicate this issue using a Standard IB Sample File, such as GRAPH FILE CAR, and post THAT code.

I'm new to this, so please be patient. How do I access the CAR database?

No Problem... I'm patient... the CAR files (FOCUS and MASTER) come with your installation (or, at least they should). Try creating a new fex with
GRAPH FILE CAR
SUM DCOST RCOST
BY COUNTRY
END
and see what happens...

You should get this:

Look at your code in text view. You should have something similar to this...

GRAPH FILE CAR
SUM TOT.SALES PCT.SALES
ACROSS CAR

Where your sum (Y-Axis) values are set to TOT (Total) and PCT (Percent). I'm unsure where this option is located in Advanced Graph Assistant, but in the regular Graph Assistant this can be changed with the "summary type" option. If you can't find it, you could simply modify the code directly as it's shown above.

Thank you Doug.
Below is what I created.
I would like the data labels for Vertical Axis 2 to show as % and the data labels for Vertical Axis 1 to show as whole numbers.

Here's what I get with that code (I need to change "ENIADefault_combine.sty" to "IBISouthWestern.txt" and I'm in 7.6.11:

This shows whole numbers (left) and bogus percents (right)

Doug-- Yes, that's what I created. What I'm trying to do is format the data labels to coincide with the respective axis formatting.

This may be the missing piece: "setTextFormatPattern(getDataText(1),"##,###,###.00%");". Here's more code
. . .
ON GRAPH SET GRAPHSTYLE *
setTemplateFile("/images/tdg/template/IBISouthWestern.txt");
setReportParsingErrors(false);
setSelectionEnableMove(false);
setTransparentBorderColor(getChartBackground(),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(0),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(1),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(2),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(3),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(4),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(5),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(6),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(7),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(8),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(9),true);
setTransparentBorderColor(getSeries(10),true);
setPieDepth(0);
setPieTilt(0);
setDepthRadius(0);
setCurveFitEquationDisplay(false);
setPlace(true);
setTextFormatPattern(getY2Label(),"#.#%");
setTextFormatPreset(getY2Label(),4);
setFontSizeAbsolute(getO1Label(),true);
setFontSizeInPoints(getO1Label(),8);
setPlaceResize(getO1Label(),0);
setDisplay(getDataText(0),true);
setDisplay(getDataText(1),true);
setFontSizeAbsolute(getDataText(1),true);
setFontSizeInPoints(getDataText(1),8);
setPlaceResize(getDataText(1),0);
setFontSizeAbsolute(getDataText(0),true);
setFontSizeInPoints(getDataText(0),8);
setPlaceResize(getDataText(0),0);
setTextFormatPattern(getDataText(1),"##,###,###.00%");
setDisplay(getDataText(),true);
setScaleMaxAuto(getY2Axis(),false);
setScaleMax(getY2Axis(),120.0);
setScaleMaxAuto(getY1Axis(),false);
setScaleMax(getY1Axis(),70000.0);
ENDSTYLE
END

I hope this helps, even though it's showing totally bogus numbers...
