Exception while running a report
Hi,
I am getting a excep[tion while running a report on a constant basis.
The message says
"An error has been detected during server to client data transfer"
Error: 12:Pcb2.:java.io.EOFException

Any reasons why this may be happening. Is it a code related issue or something else?

Is it a complex report? Perhaps you can test each step, one at a time.

Yes It is a bit complex. But for the same input conditions it works after 2 or 3 tries!

Is the result a huge HTML page? Perhaps that's the problem?

The result is not very big . In fact it is very small :-)

In case anyone is still getting this error, I found that when I did not clear a previous join , the data that it was trying to reference was now to be referenced through three separate tables. You may want to check if a previous join has been cleared with 'JOIN CLEAR' before doing a new one.

Hi gregson06 and all,

The error message is a generic message that usually means the agent on the reporting server crashed.

The crash could be caused any number of reasons.

The best course of action would be to trace the reporting server and open a case with Information Builders' Customer Support Services. You may either call at 1-800-736-6130, or access the online system InfoResponse at http://techsupport.ibi.com. Here is a list of information to be ready when you call: http://techsupport.ibi.com/before_you_call.jsp.

Hope this helps. Smiler

Cheers,

Kerry
