Hi all,

I'm having a problem with DB_LOOKUP, getting the message "This report is invalid because the data retrieval has been killed or the job has been stopped".

The request is like this:

DEFINE FILE CAR
YEAR_A/A4 = '2008';
D_VALUE/I9 = DB_LOOKUP(DEFHOLD,YEAR_A,YEAR_A,DEFVAL);
END
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM DC RC D_VALUE
BY COUNTRY BY YEAR_A
IF RECORDLIMIT EQ 1
END

The DEFHOLD file is a single-segment file holding year and a value.

Any ideas, anyone?

Tia

Hakan,

I have taken your example, and ran it on my environment.
No problem, everything works fine.
I even played around with changing formats and sort orders and such, but it never gave me the error you got.
Are you running this from within MRE/BID or not?

Gerard,

this is self-service. I've tried it both in DS 7.6.6 and WF 7.6.4. Same result in both environments.

Try this;
APP HOLD Give it a projectname
SET ASNAMES =ON
TABLE FILE TRAINING
SUM COURSECODE AS 'COURSE'
BY PIN AS 'SSN'
ON TABLE HOLD AS DOG FORMAT ALPHA
END
DEFINE FILE EMPDATA
YEAR_A/YY='2008';
D_VALUE/A7 = DB_LOOKUP(DOG,PIN,SSN,COURSE );
END
TABLE FILE EMPDATA
PRINT SALARY D_VALUE
BY YEAR_A
BY PIN
-*IF RECORDLIMIT EQ 1
END
DEFINE FILE EMPDATA CLEAR
END
