First the good news:

With the 7704 release it is now possible to get true binary Excel output from WebFOCUS by doing:

ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL07

I have tested this and the output displays properly.

So I congratulate the Excel development folks at IBI. (I can't say that they took my request to heart and did something about it, unfortunately. This compatibility turns out to be a necessary first step for enabling mobile devices, whic is what they are really working on.) However it will be a huge bonus for me, so I'm very pleased.

The bad news is that we can't get WF to talk to Tomcat Mad


WebFOCUS 7.7.05 Windows, Linux, DB2, IBM Lotus Notes, Firebird, Lotus Symphony/OpenOffice. Outputs PDF, Excel 2007 (for OpenOffice integration), WP
