I have a report. It has Dept going down the page and years going across. Dollars are reported underneath each year. There is a subtotal on Region; Region is the first BY field but is hidden.

They want to see the REGION subtotal but DO NOT want the region name printed.

I see no way in the GUI to hide the region while still printing teh dollars on the subtotal. I see no way to even make the font color match the background for JUST the region description.

I thought I could code it as below, and the code works...the region description 'disappears' BUT....I have 3 years and 3 amounts in my subtotal and only the first year's total appears...I think the subsequent subtotal values are carrying the background font color like the description.

Any ideas?

TYPE=SUBTOTAL,
BY=2,
SIZE=8,
COLOR=WHITE,
BACKCOLOR='WHITE',
$
TYPE=SUBTOTAL,
BY=2,
COLUMN=DOLLARS,
SIZE=8, COLOR='BLACK',
BACKCOLOR='WHITE',

Hi Robert
Not sure if this will fit you case exactly, but I have done this in the past.

DEFINE FILE CAR
MY_BREAK/A1 WITH COUNTRY =' ';
END

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT SEATS
BY COUNTRY NOPRINT
BY MY_BREAK NOPRINT
ACROSS CAR
ON MY_BREAK
SUBTOTAL AS ''
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT HTML
END

Hope it helps
Cheers
