I am using EXL2K FORMULA in a fex for a simple sum:

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
WIDTH
HEIGHT
COMPUTE MEASURE1/P32.7 = WIDTH + HEIGHT;
BY COUNTRY
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K FORMULA
END

The Excel cells contain this formula: =ROUND($B2 +$C2,7)

Why wouldn't it simply be =$B2+$C2

Because Excel doesn't accept more than 7 decimals... Frowner

Open an Excel file, enter 1.123456789 in a cell, change cell format for Number, Decimal places = 15.

Result will be : 1.123456700000000

So kind of "security" to ensure that no more than 7 decimals digits will remain in result

Hey!!! That's MS... or IB "security"

Waz, I'm using P because the master for the Oracle table has P32.7.

Why are there blanks in the middle of the formula?
=ROUND($P2    +$S2    +$V2    +$Y2    +$AB2    +$AE2    +$AH2,7)

An annoying aspect of EXL2K FORMULA is that when a column is the result of a COMPUTE or DEFINE referencing columns that are not part of the report, the formula reflects the references.

The individual columns are not in the report
COMPUTE TOTAL_IMPL/P32.2C  =
    LONG_PB   + LONG_NONPB + LONG_EMP
  + UND_LONG1 + UND_LONG2  + UND_LONG3
  + UND_LONG4 + UND_LONG5  + UND_LONG6
  + UND_LONG7 + LONG_LT    + UND_LONG8;
AS 'TOTAL LONG'

The formula in the Excel file, with a pile of blanks:
=ROUND(0                            +-5228610.61                     +0                            +0                            +0                            +0                            +-3000051                     +0                            +0                            +0                            +0                            +0,2)
