I just received a message from my program that states "(FOC021) THE MAXIMUM HEADING/FOOTING SIZE HAS BEEN EXCEEDED"

What does that message mean? I searched this forum with no results and tried checking Google.

Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

There is a maximum number of characters you can using in your heading and column titles. Are you doing an ACROSS with lots of data values.

I don't know the max number off the top of my head.

You are going to have to play with your column titles.

This is the full text of the error:

quote:
0(FOC021) THE MAXIMUM HEADING/FOOTING SIZE HAS BEEN EXCEEDED
The free text supplied for the heading and/or footing exceeds the
allowed maximum. Try eliminating trailing blanks within the double
quotes from the heading and footing text.

This could also be caused by you forgetting to put an end quote on your Heading / footing line.

Ginny and RSquared, thanks for your replies. I removed some characters from my heading area and that fixed the problem.
