How do I add an element to a second row? For Example: I want PO No, PO Note ID, Document Text Note ID on one line and Note_text on another.
 PO No
PO Note ID Document Text
Note ID
NOTE_TEXT
426308 22,630,118.00 22,630,118.00 test note
426308 22,630,119.00 22,630,119.00 S/NS YYK0134, YYK0159 ENGS 1034, 1087 HRS 4771.96, 1989

The NOTE_TEXT "test note" should print between the two 426308 and the row starting with "S/NS" should print right after the second 426308. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have already searched the forum and documentation.

The quick answer is to use OVER, though it never really satisfies the requirements (for instance, I can't get the WARRANTY field in my example to span multiple columns).

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
COUNTRY AS ''
CAR AS ''
MODEL AS ''

OVER
WARRANTY AS ''

HEADING
"Demo Report - With OVER"
" "
"Country<+0>Car<+0>Model"

ON TABLE SET PAGE NOLEAD

ON TABLE SET STYLESHEET *
TYPE=REPORT, GRID=OFF, FONT='ARIAL', SIZE=9, $
TYPE=HEADING, HEADALIGN=BODY, STYLE=BOLD, $
TYPE=HEADING, LINE=1, COLSPAN=3, COLOR=NAVY, $
TYPE=DATA, COLUMN=WARRANTY, SIZE=8, $
END

Depending on the output format, there are tricks you can do.

Thanks, OVER is what I was looking for, but it does involve some formatting if the field is too long.

- aye, there's the rub. As well, normal column titles don't work - you have to include them in a SUBHEAD or HEADING.
