Hi All

My code goes like this ,

***********************************************
TABLE FILE HOLD
PRINT
IBD
AUDIT_ACTION_DESCRIPTION AS 'ACTION'
COL_NAME AS 'COLUMN NAME'
OLD_VALUE AS 'OLD VALUE'
NEW_VALUE AS 'NEW VALUE'
modby AS 'MODIFIED BY'
BY PRIMARY_KEY_DATA

ON TABLE SUBHEAD
"ABC"

END

************************************************

I am getting an error like,

************************************************

0 ERROR AT OR NEAR LINE 10 IN PROCEDURE __WCFEX FOCEXEC *
(FOC013) THE 'ON FIELDNAME' FIELD IS NOT A SORT FIELD: SUBHEAD
BYPASSING TO END OF COMMAND
(FOC009) INCOMPLETE REQUEST STATEMENT

************************************************

Can anyone help this out??

Thanks
Gobi

Gobi,

Are you sure that it is this TABLE request to which WebFOCUS is objecting or a previous one?

There is no ON FIELDNAME in that oart of your program so it is unlikely that the error is as a result of this particular section of your code.

To ensure that error messages are issued at the relevant point within the sysprint make sure you have a -RUN after each TABLE request END statement.

Gobi,

Rule of thumb, never use reserved words as alternatives for fieldnames. True of any language!!

Way forward? Change the fieldname equal to TABLE - if indeed that is what you have.

Also, if you want to SUBHEAD on change of this field, include it as a BY statement with or without NOPRINT.

Tobi,

if I were you I would change the name in hold file - using reserved words as fieldnames causes a lot of trouble,
