Hi,

I have a maintain screen which calls a Webfocus procedure which in turns calls an oracle stored procedure.

I want to know how can we capture the OUT parameter from the stored procedure in Maintain. Basically I want to show the success/failure message to the user based on the OUT parameter's value.

Thanks!

exec fex from var into stackname;

In the fex you call the stored procedure which returns a value in the OUT variable.

The fex returns that value into stackname, where you can test on the value.

Also, if you can code it directly in Maintain, there's a Maintain variable, called SYS_NGR.DBMS_ERRORCODE.

From memory you can also get the messages from the WebFOCUS Proc, a msg stack i think.

In addition to what was suggested you can also look at FOCMSG.MSG
This is a default stack that passes back everything that was echoed to the screen. You can display it in an HTMLTable or use SUBSTR to parse any values that you need from it. You don't have to compute or infer this stack. You don't have to pass or receive it. It is automatic.
