Hi,

I have a problem that makes me mad since yesterday. I simply want to display a value on the left side on my PDF but I can't do it. The problem is that I become this value with the -READ command after a PRINT in a TABLE FILE on a P17.2 field and I can't justify this value on the left. I tried with TRUNCATE, EDIT, PTOA AND ATODL functions but I don't become the good result.

Can somebody help me?

TABLE FILE FDBLOT
PRINT LTDEC1
WHERE LTLREF EQ '8594240'
ON TABLE HOLD AS TABTEST FORMAT ALPHA
END
-RUN

-READ TABTEST &MYVAL.17
-CLOSE TABTEST

TABLE FILE FDBLOT
PRINT LTLREF NOPRINT
WHERE LTLREF EQ '8594240'
HEADING
"&MYVAL"
""

ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
ON TABLE SET STYLE *

TYPE=HEADING, JUSTIFY=LEFT,COLOR=RED,$

ENDSTYLE
END

It should work with the LJUST function:

SET HOLDLIST=PRINTONLY
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
SALES/D17
WHERE COUNTRY EQ 'ENGLAND'
ON TABLE HOLD AS H001 FORMAT ALPHA
END
-RUN
-READ H001 &MYVAL.A17.

-SET &MYVAL1 = LJUST(17, &MYVAL, 'A17');

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT COUNTRY NOPRINT
WHERE COUNTRY EQ 'ENGLAND'
HEADING
"&MYVAL1"
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
ON TABLE SET STYLE *

TYPE=HEADING, JUSTIFY=LEFT,COLOR=RED,$

ENDSTYLE
END
END

Thanks a lot Francis, you should write books! Do you make trainings for European little developers?

I would love to "make trainings for European little developers"! (Sounds like Borat!)

I worked in London for six weeks on WebFOCUS 4.3.6 and worked in Paris for two years on PC FOCUS.

I would love to return to Europe and work there for a short contract.
