I'm trying to develop an html file (linked to a webfocus report) that gives users an option to choose output fields from double list control.
Right now I cannot get to the point to take values of output fields (slected) and match against the dtatabase fields to generate output through focus file.
This can also be done through another object not necessarily by double list control.
Thanks.

Use a procedure like the following, to pull the fieldnames and their titles:

-DEFAULT &FOLDER=IBIDEMO, &FILE=CENTURYSALES, &FMT=XML
  APP PREPENDPATH &FOLDER
  CHECK FILE &FILE HOLD
-*?FF HOLD
  DEFINE FILE HOLD
    DESCRIPT/A66=IF TITLE NE ' ' THEN TITLE ELSE FIELDNAME;
  END
  TABLE FILE HOLD
    WRITE FST.FIELDNAME AS Fieldname
    BY DESCRIPT AS Description
IF SEGTYPE NE U$* OR K$*
    ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT &FMT
    ON TABLE SET HOLDLIST PRINTONLY
  END

First column is a description based on TITLE (or FIELDNAME if TITLE is blank), and the second gives FIELDNAME. Unfortunately, CHECK FILE does not yet cover DESCRIPT appearing in the MFD, so you have to make do with TITLE.

The IF SEGTYPE ... statement is to omit fields that appear in virtual (joined-to) segments. That may or may not be appropriate in your context.
