With new developers using mre and GUIs, mre name changes due to virtual folders are common.
This is not a problem developing within mre, but are there any common best practices for backup when developing within MRE?

Copying files to a srver, of course results in a plethora of unintelligible names. Backing up to another domain would not rsolve the problem since we are using only a single server.

Thanks

The migration tool (mrextract) is a quick way to back up the entire MR environment. It creates a zip file which you could refer to if backup is needed. I don't know how it works for "unattended" use (i.e. scheduled system process) but I'm sure there some way to do it.

The directories to backup are:

c:\ibi\Webfocusxx\basedir
C:\ibi\Webfocusxx\worp

(As Darren rightly mentions these are .zip ed by the migration tool)

And if you're using realm driver you will have to backup the database

Then you will have a point in time copy of mre.

Yes, but you need system level access. This is not accessible through any web-based IB tool.
