I'm testing my application in WF 7.7.04 and all of my -SET commands (ie: -SET &TEXT = 'TEST'Wink display as -SET &TEXT = 'TEST'; I would prefer to see the Simple &, as I always have in my 7.1.7 environment. Where is & coming from and can I change this behavior?

I don't see the difference in what it IS and what it WAS or what you would like it to BE?

I think we need another example.

Rob,

Do you mean that you are now seeing -SET &TEXT = 'TEXT'; instead of the previous -SET &TEXT = 'TEXT'; when you view the output stream?

I've seen it go back and forth between both of these between releases, but I must say that it has never bothered me that much.

It is going to be the method used to include the stream in the output. No quick method to suppress that behaviour to my knowledge.

Tony A. and Prarie: Thank you for responding to my very first post. After I submitted it, I realized I was not very clear and am still unsure how that face icon got in there. Tony nailed what I was trying to explain. This is the first time I am dealing with a new WF release and the & instead of & added to my confusion. I will get used to it, as you suggest. Thank you again!

Just a test to see if "&" in double qoutes will not get truncated to just & when I post. That was part of the confusion with my 1st post (I now believe). I will get better. Thanks.

Just to follow up, there should be the characters amp; following the & in my previous post. Tony A, did you do anything special to get your post to show amp; following the &? Sorry to beat this into the ground.

The reason you see
& , "e; etc.

Is because when you look at the view source everything you see is escaped.

That's the way modern browsers work.

What's more intreging is why neither the quote or code tags on this site
do not ignore them as they should.

took me 3 attemps to get that to post correctly.

@ JG, It gets us all!! Smiler

@ Rob,

A colon : directly followed by a right hand brace ) is translated by the forum engine to a graphic Smiler as are many other combinations of characters as you will find out over time Wink - semicolon plus right brace!

As for the &amp within my post above, I just do the escaping as JG mentions above. What I actually typed in was & (hopefully that's correct otherwise it will need a post edit!)
