RECOMPUTE getting blank with MISSING Data

I have a Numeric Column sorted by Field1 and then by Field2. On this column I have to do a recompute on Field1.

TABLE FILE FILENAME
SUM
COL1
COL2
NUMCOL/D20.2 % MISSING ON = IF FIELD2 eq 'A' THEN (COL1/COL2)*100 ELSE MISSING;
BY
FIELD1
BY
FIELD2
ON FIELD1 RECOMPUTE
END

Now say there are few rows under Field2_Val under Field1_Val, for which NUMCOL becomes MISSING after above IF statement is executed.

For this value of 'Field1_Val' the recompute is displayed as blank.

Is there any way where the RECOMPUTE can ignore MISSING values (especially when the last row in the group has a MISSING data)

Any inputs will be helpful

Thanks

CD,

Call it in, it would appear to be a bug.

The following code would be useful to show IB the problem whilst using their sample database GGSALES -

TABLE FILE GGSALES
SUM DOLLARS
    BUDDOLLARS
	COMPUTE BUDGET/D8.2% MISSING ON = IF ST NE 'TX' THEN BUDDOLLARS / DOLLARS * 100 ELSE MISSING;
BY REGION
BY ST
ON REGION RECOMPUTE AS 'Total for '
END

T

btw. It doesn't appear to affect when the last value is missing. Try taking MISSING ON and ELSE MISSING out and having ELSE 0 instead. The same result occurs Frowner

Does a RECAP give you the results you need?

TABLE FILE GGSALES
SUM DOLLARS
BUDDOLLARS
COMPUTE BUDGET/D8.2% MISSING ON = IF ST NE 'TX'
THEN BUDDOLLARS / DOLLARS * 100 ELSE MISSING;
BY REGION
BY ST
-* ON REGION RECOMPUTE AS 'Total for '
ON REGION RECAP
BUDGET1/D8.2% = BUDDOLLARS / DOLLARS * 100;
END

Hi Karen,

I think RECAP is a viable work around but then you would have to play with styling to get the value into the correct column placement. As this is the whole point of recompute I still think it should be called in as a possible bug.
