Does anyone know if it's possible to burst a compound report (created in the Document view that includes a chart) via ReportCaster? I always thought the burst function would work based on the first BY statement, so I added it to each report in the Document view, and the output was "gobblygook."

Hi Janessa,

From our technicals: Bursting will only work with a coordinated compound report, where the first by field in all table/graph statements is the same.
Also this functionality came out format by format in the 76x versions. Feature first described in the new features manual, page 247.
It is important to ReportCaster for the fex to be created either by the pdf layout painter(when only pdf was supported) or by document composer/compound layout tool(in later 76x releases when more formats were supported), any manual edits of the generated fex are not supported.

A quick search on Focal Point gives you this: http://forums.informationbuild...1057331/m/5481007942

If you have additional questions, please contact Customer Support Services and open a case for assistance.

Cheers,

Kerry

Hi Janessa, I'm trying to do the same thing. Were you able to get this to work?

Hi Kerry, would you happen to have a simple example of a coordinated compound report with a chart and a report, perhaps using CAR, that can be burst?

thanks!
David
