I am trying to create an HTML page (using HTML Layout Painter) with a list of reports that a user will launch with a push button. The issue is that each report has a common parameter and data source. I would like to show the parameter drop down for each report. Right now when I bring in report 2 the parameter already exist so report 2 runs with report 1's parameter selection. Is there a way around this without renaming the value in report 2's procedure?

Thanks!

Dr Pants,
are you wanting to use 1 single HTML Launch page to launch several different fexes?
How are you specifying the 2nd fex now?
1 FORM has 1 action..
so if you want 2 fexes to run with different parm selections, you need 2 FORMs in your launch page. that means 2 sets of dropdowns, 2 actions, 2 separate submit buttons.
If you have MRE, do a PUBLISH on your fex from MRE to see what a launchpage looks like with FORM tags, rather than using HTML Layout Painter.

Yes, I am wanting to use one HTML page to launch several different fexes.

I tried adding a pushbutton and creating a hyperlink for each report, which does not allow me to create a second set of drop downs because they do not appear in the "New Parameters dialog box"...

How would I create 2 FORMS in the launch page?

I did a PUBLISH of the fex, but I am not sure what I am looking for in regard to FORM tags.

Thanks!
I really appreciate you taking the time to respond

Change your button from type of "submit" to type of "button" and then write some javascript to be actioned via the "onclick"event for each button.

As the final part of the onclick event javascript include document.forms[1].submit() to action your form.

Dr.,

What about having a drop down box from which you choose your fex? The fex gets put into an &variable which you then execute.

the type is currently "button" and each on-click event runs the correct report...the problem is the parameters value/drop down "Claim Year" for example, is associated with both reports...I would like to create a second, identical "Claim Year" drop down that applies to report 2

Are you wanting to run 1 report at a time or are you wanting to run the reports and have them side by side (or one over the other)? If it is one report at a time, you probably don't need different parameters (you may want to add options for sort/sum etc and even use one program). If you are wanting to run 2 programs at the same time, try an IFRAME.

ok, you have to get this...
one button -> one form -> one report.
If you really want one go button and 2 fexes, then you have to have 2 dropdown lists,
they can have the same stuff in them, but they've got to have 2 different &VAR names.
Fex 1 uses &var#1 and ignores #var #2
Fex 2 uses &var#2 and ignores #var #1.
this is a goofy design, but it'll work.
