How to freeze the columns/titles in excel?

Using the Freeze/Unfreeze option in excel, it is possible to freeze/unfreeze any fields, columnwise or rowwise in excel. How can we attain the same functionality through WebFOCUS?

In other words,
(1) How to fix the column titles in excel?
(2) How to fix some columns fixed and some columns alone scrollable in Excel? For example, if i have 10 columns in excel, i want the first 3 columns to be static and the other columns alone scrollable.

I don't believe that WebFOCUS has any options to set panes, so I don't think this will be easy.

Having a look at the file created, then settings for the panes is in XML in the header of the mht document.

You could manipulate the produced file before returning it, but it will be difficult.

In WebFOCUS freezing panes would only be possible in HTML output. For that reason you could possibly switch to HTML?

Did you try using an Excel template?

You could freeze panes in the template and put the information with your fex

As Issac suggests, use a template. That is how we do this. We do all kinds of Excel related activity using a template with Auto-Open macros. There is a lot of information on this site related to this.

Only thing to be aware of is that the .mht file should be created with Excel 2003 or Excel 2000. While you can create .mht files in Excel 2007 and 2010, they will not work the same way. We are on Excel 2010 and I have a copy of Excel 2003 as well so I can maintain and create new .mht files.
