Has anyone received the following error when bursting a dynamic address list?
BTP1010 unable to distribute to emailaddress.com Exception reading response
The developer checked and there is data for the report to be populated to the specific e-mail address, but for some reason, it came up with this error.
I tried reading through the Reportcaster Admin manuals and came across the E-mail Retries setting and it's on 0. Would changing this setting correct this? I don't know if this is just that it was undeliverable at the time of the run (4 am) or if there's a different problem.
Thank you. This message has been edited. Last edited by: sosterle,
try using -SET &ECHO=ALL; in your procedure so it outputs the focus code to the reportcaster log. Then run it and see what information and/or error messages the log contains.
Usually "Unable to distribute to email address" means that the mail server was not available at the time the task was run.
if you run it again, do you still get the same error?
Regards,
Darin

I saw a bizarre one in the past where the variable &DATE caused this same error. Also, &ECHO=ON/ALL use to cause RC to go nuts and fail. This is a long shot, but ensure the ECHO's are off and remove &DATE type parms.

&ECHO settings don't cause RC jobs to fail. I use it all the time.

That depends on which version of WF you are running. I think it was 7.1.1 that you couldn't even save a report caster job if it contained &ECHO or -EXIT.

Thank you all for coming to the rescue, but it looks like it's just a matter of hitting the mail server at the wrong time.
I did some research and checked the logs from other days and there were successful bursts to the locations that showed "unable to deliver" messages on the day I posted this.
I changed the E-mail Retries on the Reportcaster Server Configuration to 2 just to see if it would help.
Thanks again for all who responded. It sure is good to know us novices aren't out here alone!
