I have tried a number of Usage types but I can't get the csv output to be a date format that can be used in EXCEL. The definition is as follows:

FIELDNAME=CALENDARDATE, ALIAS=calendarDate, USAGE=YY-M-D, ACTUAL=DATE,
TITLE='Calendar Date', $

The format of the field is datetime and displays as 2000-01-01 00:00:00.000

The csv output is 20080131. This format can't be used as a date format in EXCEL. I would like to produce any date format that is compatible with EXCEL (01/31/2008 or 01/2008)

Laurie,

Why not use the expanded date format and force the issue?

COMPUTE DATEB/A17 = CHGDAT('MDYY','MDYYX',DATECVT(DATE, 'I8YYMD', 'A8MDYY'),'A17');
