I am trying to create a synonym based on a stored procedure that accepts user input. EACH time I try to create this, I receive the following error even though I am passing this specific parameter in. I have checked & verified my web focus account has read/execute permissions on the sql database but each time I get the following error. Can anyone assist or point me in the right direction?

webfocus_support Usp_Rpt_TestProc (FOC1400) SQLCODE IS 201 (HEX: 000000C9) XOPEN: S0004
: (201) [S0004] Procedure or function Usp_Rpt_TestProc' expects parameter '@UserInputID', which was not supplied.
(FOC1405) SQL PREPARE ERROR.

Is there a log file or something I can reference to see exactly what is going on here?

Thank u

Hi nico,

While we wait for other members to reply to your post can you explain further how/where you are running this? Is webfocus_support Usp_Rpt_TestProc a focexec that runs the stored procedure? How is the variable being passed in? Does the procedure run if the variable is hardcoded with a value?

Can you post your code - or at least the section that is causing the possible error?

Kindest regards,

Let's try again. I misspoke earlier and deleted that post.

A few months ago, I needed a synonym for an Oracle stored procedure. I was getting different errors and opened a couple of cases. What I was eventually told was that when using the synonym editor with a stored procedure, one has to supply values for all input parameters. Once I did that, it worked fine.

Hi jgelona,

Thank you for your update regarding supplying the input parameters for a stored procedure.

The following statements are from a case that has been resolved related to this topic:

When creating a synonym for a stored procedure with the web console, the values
for the parameters need to be entered in the Value column. Double click in that
box to type in the values. The column can be expanded using the mouse. This
is on the same line as where you select the synonym name to be created.
When testing the synonym by doing Sample Data, the values also needed to be
entered.

Thank you for sharing with the Forum.
