Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to create DIMENSION in the fex code itself without using the master file.I am using sql passthrough.Actually i am generating an OLAP enabled report and i want to restrict the data by using the OLAP selection panel.Restriction in the sense that i should be able to give value in the text box against any field that comes on the OLAP selection pane(not control pane). And then when i click on the run button it should take that value specified against the field in the text box and filter the data.I tried searching everywhere but no nformation is available on this topic.

Presently i am generating an OLAP report without DIMENSION in the fex file and using sql pass through.I thought that just changing the keyword CONTROL to TOP in the statement

ON TABLE SET OLAPPANE TOP

will do.But i was not able to see any field in the selection panel on top using which i can filter the data. After some searching i found that defining DIMENSON in the fex file would help. But i didnt get any tutorial that explains all this ,especially in SQL pass through. Also i am not using any tool but pure coding. So if anyone could help me in this regard it would be really great.

Regards,
Aditya
