I have Dev Studio 532 on my laptop and it takes about five minutes for it to start up. It takes ages for a list of Masters to appear - basically everything runs very slowly.
It's a 1.7 GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, so it should be capable of running Dev Studio at a reasonable speed.
Does anyone out there know of any tweaks that can solve this problem for the few times I use Dev Studio?
Francis
Give me code, or give me retirement. In FOCUS since 1991
Production: WF 7.7.05M, Dev Studio, BID, MRE, WebSphere, DB2 / Test: WF 8.1.05M, App Studio, BI Portal, Report Caster, jQuery, HighCharts, Apache Tomcat, MS SQL Server
Could be a bad memory chip too. Try Memtest (freeware). Registry could be bloated - there used to be a freeware version of Regcleaner that was pretty good. I'd do some basic "housecleaning", uninstall WF, run the cleaner tools, and then re-install. I use CCleaner to get rid of extra junk. Heck, maybe even wipe the drive. Might be the hard drive or some other hardware issue.
When DevStudio startup have you looked in the CMD Window. It usually doesn't come to the foreground. It might be re-trying something in the process of starting up and getting errors.
