I have a report that has a heading that spans the legnth of the page. The actual report only has two small columns. When I run the report, the columns are spaced with the first on the left side of the page, and the second on the right side of the page.

I want the second column to be right next to the first. Is there anything I can do?

How wide is the first column?

First Column is A4. Second column is D15.2

We probably need to see your code to figure out what the issue might be. Please include it inside the code tags.

Probably missed a double quote, " , to close the HEADING line...

Here is my report code. I found in another post a setting for the styling code of HEADALIGN=INTERNAL, but that didn't seem to do anything.

There's a lot of styling in there that is not related to anything (TABHEADING, ACROSSTITLE, FOOTING, etc. Basically everything after the

can be eliminated down to the ENDSTYLE.
Also, leave out the HEADLIGN=INTERNAL and the heading is left-aligned by default so there is no need to specify that.

Since you have no output type specified, I'm assuming it's just HTML, in which case you probably want a line that says ON TABLE SET HTMLCSS ON.

Best way to troubleshoot the problem is to remove the styling code and see if it looks OK (other than styles) and then add the pieces of code back in one at a time until you figure out what is causing the problem.

try this (and clean up the stylesheet a little) and let us know what you find out.

You also might try to -SET &ECHO=ALL; at the beginning and then view source to see if the code that is actually being run it what you're expecting.

If it is HTML then you will always get a result that takes as much of the window as possible. To test this adjust the window size by grabbing the lower right corner and changing the size. You will see that the heading will change according to the window size.

All that HTMLCSS = ON does is to remove all the individual cell styling and apply it within <style> tags.

If you want to control the columns widths then use another format such as EXL2K or PDF.
