As of December 1, 2020, Focal Point is retired and repurposed as a reference repository. We value the wealth of knowledge that's been shared here over the years. You'll continue to have access to this treasure trove of knowledge, for search purposes only.

You could define some "data buckets" to aggregate values for each of the 2 Account Types (R and L).
Try something like this using your own table/fields:
DEFINE FILE MYFILE
ACCCNT/I6 = 1;
ACCCNT_R/I6 = IF ACC_TYPE EQ 'R' THEN 1 ELSE 0;
ACCBAL_R/D20.2 = IF ACC_TYPE EQ 'R' THEN ACC_BALANCE ELSE 0;
ACCCNT_L/I6 = IF ACC_TYPE EQ 'L' THEN 1 ELSE 0;
ACCBAL_L/D20.2 = IF ACC_TYPE EQ 'L' THEN ACC_BALANCE ELSE 0;
END
TABLE FILE MYFILE
PRINT
ACC_BALANCE
BY REGION
BY AREA
BY ACCT_NUM
ON AREA SUBFOOT
"Acct. Type R: <ST.ACCCNT_R <ST.ACCBAL_R"
"Acct. Type L: <ST.ACCCNT_L <ST.ACCBAL_L"
"Total for Area <AREA: <ST.ACCCNT <ST.ACC_BALANCE"
ON TABLE SUBFOOT
"Acct. Type R: <TOT.ACCCNT_R <TOT.ACCBAL_R"
"Acct. Type L: <TOT.ACCCNT_L <TOT.ACCBAL_L"
"Grand-total: <TOT.ACCCNT <TOT.ACC_BALANCE"
END
I did not have a chance to test this as was a bit lazy to make up some code with the CAR or GGSALES table but I hope it'll illustrate the concept.This message has been edited. Last edited by: njsden,
